About — Sanjai SM
Good marketing should make the product better. How Sanjai SM connects understanding customers, building products, and helping sales.
Teaching taught me to be clear.
I started my career with a science YouTube channel and helped grow it from 20,000 to 1.2 million subscribers.
Teaching made me care about whether someone understood an idea, not whether I sounded clever explaining it. I still bring that test to a product page or a sales deck.
I turned a science lesson into a business.
I wanted children to try the science themselves. So I built BigBang Kit, a mini lab delivered to students in grades 6 to 10. I learned the subscription business while building it, grew the team from one person to 50, and took the product to ₹3 crore in cumulative revenue.
Big Bang Camp took the same idea further with experiments too large for a box. Newspapers covered the work.
We brought science learning to the phone.
I launched Chitti, a science-learning app, and grew it to 100,000 users. This was the earlier version I worked on; the app continued to evolve after I left.
After leaving LMES, I travelled across India before taking on my next role.
The market was already working.
Dicekart served 200+ restaurants in Chennai and 560+ kirana shops through its fresh-produce supply chain. I owned product across operations and technology, so I went to the market at 4 a.m. to understand the system before trying to improve it.
Much of it worked remarkably well without software. That mattered: I was there to improve the operation, not put an app between people who already knew what they were doing. I worked on the vendor and field-sales tools around what I saw.
At Prudent AI, marketing had to help sales.
At Prudent AI, I spent three years and four months working in the US mortgage market. It was unfamiliar when I joined. I learned it while designing the website, making sales material and videos, and building automations for the revenue team.
I wanted the work to help sales do its job. My GTM engineering work connected account information, follow-up, and reporting so the team had more than a good message to work with.
